Why Does Time Fly By As You Get Older?

 In early childhood, anyone had felt that the flow of time was too slow and long time every day when being in a kindergarten, an elementary school, a junior/senior high school, etc. But, a person past over 20 years of age, most people become to feel as growing older that the flow of time has been changed its feeling-speed from slow to fast-speed. As a result, its time-length of a year also has been changed its feeling-speed from a long-time year to a short-time year.

 Why people feels "the time flies" ? In 19th century, there was a person who researched about the flow of time.

In 19th century, the French psychologist"Paul-Janet" unraveled its riddle and mystery of the flow of time. Pierre-Janet His thesis was reported by Pierre-Janet's authoring.

"The phenomenon that its length of time which being memorized subjectively between young people and elderly people is different. Young people feels longer its length. But elderly people feels shorter its length." ....was unraveled psychologically by Paul-Janet. He explained that the psychological-length at the time in lifetime is in inverse proportion to the age. For instance, a person age 50 years old The length of 1-year equals to one fiftieth for 50 years-old peoples.

 But a little-child the length of 1-year equals to one-fifth for 5 years-old children. Therefore, the time of 10 years for 50 years-old peoples equals to the time of 1 year for 5-years-old children. The time of 1 day for 5-years-old children equals to the time of 10 days for 50 years-old peoples. Paul-Janet explained its factor as follows. A child who is pure and ignorant is brimming with curiosity. Furthermore, A child is very sensitive. A child fills with its fresh surprising impression dáy àfter dáy through many and varied experiences -toys, animals, flowers, people's face, musics, animated films, etc. As a result, A child feels the length of time-passing is long.

  But the number of fresh surprising impression decreases as they grow older by being in same place and same society. By and by, it leads a monotonous life. And, the grown-up peoples becomes to feel fast its time-speed than their childhood.

 

  But there are still some doubtful points. Mental retardation(general learning disability), How Do They Feel about it ? Same ? Usually, When we going on a journey, we feels that each day is a full and long-time. Why ? I think maybe that Everything we see or hear is new and strange to us.
